Last week in March!

Hopefully everyone enjoyed a nice long weekend. Can you believe this is the last full week in March? We will be working hard this week preparing for our upcoming Wax Museum. The students have read their biographies, taken incredible notes, and organized their notes. This week we will write a first person narrative and a short speech. While most of the work for this project is done in school I do need your help with two parts.
First, the students will need to dress up like their person on the day of the Wax Museum (Thursday, April 2nd). This does not need to be an elaborate costume. Please use items you can find around the house. For example, if your child is George Washington he/she could wear black pants and a white dress shirt. If your child is J.K. Rowling he/she could have a copy of a Harry Potter book on their desk. We have been doing this project in third grade for a number of years and many of the older students in our building have outfits/accessories that they used for their wax museum.
Also, the student will need to memorize a short speech they will recite on the day of the Wax Museum. This speech will come home this Friday. Please have your child practice this speech during the weekend and the next week leading up to the Wax Museum. Thank you very much for you help and support. I hope to see you on Thursday, April 2nd at 2:30!
