Coming up this week...

Thank you all so much for coming to our Wax Museum last week! The students worked very hard on this project and I was pleased to see so many family members sharing our hard work. I am extremely proud of my students!

This week begins the first of two NY State tests. We are taking the ELA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. This test is 70 minutes long each day. It is important that your child is at school on time these three days, because we will begin first thing each morning. Also, please make sure your child has a healthy, full breakfast. The children regularly eat a snack in the morning and due to testing this will be delayed by an hour. A good night sleep will also help the students sit for the duration of this test.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This week we will continue to work on our Biography project. The majority of the work for this project is done in school. There are two area that I could use your help on at home. This Friday the students will come home with a short speech that need to be memorized. It would be very helpful if you could practice this at home. Also, on the day of the Wax Museum the students should dress-up as their person. I do not expect elaborate costumes. Please use items that can be found around your house. For example, if your child researched Johnny Appleseed he/she could wear tan pants, a white shirt, hat and bring in an apple for a prop. We will be discussing costumes in class this week.
Please send in your RSVP for the Wax Museum if you have not already done so.

We will not have a Friday Letter until after the Biography project and the ELA test (April 1-3) are finished.
