This week we will continue our book partner work. Each student has been assigned a book and a partner. They do their reading and a portion of a written assignment independently and then meet with their partner to discuss their reading and complete the written task. We will also continue to practice division. We will explore remainders and may even take a look at some simple long division. We will begin division timed tests on Friday, May 17th. We will begin with 2's and 3's. In social studies, we are learning about different cultures. We have looked at Nigeria and Vietnam. This week we will learn about Finland.
We will begin our research on our assigned countries this Friday. I am asking each student to bring in at least one resource to use, by Friday, May17. We will research our countries and then the students will create a power point presentation on his/her country. We will be inviting you in to view these in June. There will be more information about a date and time for this event coming home soon!
We are enjoying our science unit about electricity. We will continue this work for the next few weeks.
